Cyclone Idai hits Mozambique

Powerful Cyclone Idai killed more than 300 people in Mozambique. President Filipe Nyusi has declared three days of national mourning after the cyclone. Fatalities can rise up to 1000 said the president Filipe Nyusi.

As per the local government as much as 600,000 lives are affected and 100,000 lives needs to be rescued urgently.

Cyclone Idai has destroyed everything which comes in its path, Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe areas are affected by the deadly Cyclone. Survivors are climbing rooftops as they are waiting for the rescue teams.

Winds up to 170 kmph and flooding affected nearly 2.6 million people in southeastern Africa. It is one of the worst weather disasters of the southern hemisphere. It is expected that this figure will go up as the day passes.
